Update on Visa Process Time in UK
The Home Office has recently published an updated list of standard processing times for UK visa applications made outside and inside the UK. Most applications for work, study and visit visas are currently being processed within 3 weeks for overseas applications, or 8 weeks for in-country applications.

UK GOV Announces New Taxes on Illegal Workers
On 7 August 2023, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) announced later this year the Home Office will decide on options to increase their action against licensed businesses employing illegal workers. Since the beginning of 2018 there have been almost 5,000 civil penalties issued, totalling up to £88.4million imposed upon those businesses found to be employing illegal workers.
UK GOV. PUTS LIMIT ON DEPENDANT VISA FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
International masters students will be banned from bringing their families to UK. Only Postgraduate student, which includes students doing research based work will be allowed to bring a dependant.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CAN NO LONGER WORK MORE THAN 48 HOURS FORTNIGHT – AUSTRALIA
From 1 July 2023, student visa holders can work no more than 48 hours a fortnight while studying. Student visa holders have no work restrictions when their course of study or training is not in session. This ensures that student visa holders are able to focus on obtaining a quality Australia education and qualification, while remaining able to gain valuable work experience, and contribute to Australia’s workforce needs.
